About the salon
Volume Hair Studio was founded in 2011 by Natasia and moved from Rittenhouse to Old City, where it now works out of a bright ground-floor room. The house phrase is laid-back luxury, and it is meant literally: the standard of the work is high, the tone is not. Honest conversation is treated as part of the service, including telling a guest when the picture on their phone is not going to happen in one appointment.
Services
The studio keeps a focused menu instead of a catalog: precision haircutting, color across the range from single process to full blonding, hand-painted dimensional work, extensions for length or density, and blow-dry styling. Consultations are taken seriously enough that guests who are unsure can submit a virtual consultation before committing to a booking.
Technology and brands
Blonding is the technical center of the studio, which means lightening built in stages, careful placement rather than a full head of foils by default, and bond protection worked into the service so the hair survives the process. Extension work is matched and blended to the guest’s own color rather than clipped in as a block.
Team and stylists
Natasia owns the studio and still works behind a chair. Around her is a settled bench of about a dozen stylists, several of whom have been with the studio for years, and the retention is the point: guests keep the same hands and the color record stays in one head. Stylist profiles are published so a booking can be matched to a specialty rather than to a free slot.
The Space
A modern room, plant-filled and deliberately unfussy, with a proper reception area where you can sit rather than hover. Stations are spaced for comfort and the light is good enough to judge color honestly. The studio is open on Sundays, which is rare in this part of the city.
Who it’s for
Guests going blonde or maintaining it, anyone wanting extensions that read as their own hair, people who want a stylist who will say no to an unrealistic request, and weekend clients who cannot get to a salon midweek.
Questions and answers
Can I book online? Yes, bookings are taken online, and there is a virtual consultation form for guests who are undecided.
How long should I plan for? About an hour for a cut and blow-dry; blonding or extension work can take four hours or more.
Do you cut men and children? Men’s cutting is available; ask when booking about younger guests.
Can I combine color and a cut? Yes, that is the standard booking. Mention it so the slot is long enough.
Is a gift certificate available? Yes, gift certificates can be arranged through the studio.
